Oven or BBQ

A baked potato, also known as a ‘jacket potato’ is obtained after the potato has undergone its specific cooking process in the oven or BBQ. Soft inside, combined with a crisp edible skin, a delicious taste is obtained. This can be combined with all kinds of ingredients: herb or garlic butter, cheese, ham, etc.

Preparation:

Boil the potatoes until they are almost done. Cut aluminium foil into squares and wrap the potatoes completely in them adding some olive oil, pepper and coarse sea salt. Next, place them in the oven or in the BBQ for 15 minutes.

Tip: Tip: If you don’t want to parboil the potatoes first, you can use the following trick to speed up the baking process somewhat: using an apple corer, punch a hole through them lengthwise. This means the heat will get to the middle faster. It also provides a cavity in which to add flavours. Instead of making a hole, you can also drive a skewer lengthwise through the potato: the conductive metal heats the potato from the inside as well.

Tip: In order to give oven fries a crispier outer layer, sprinkle some sea salt on them while they are roasting.
